Joe Press is the son of Katie Klionsky Press; his great grandfather was Yisroel Yitzhak Klionsky,
a man who was the brother of Zalman Mordecai, Gershon, Note/Nisan, and at least one other.
Joe is this year's honoree at the annual fundraising event for the Jewish Family Service
in the Framingham, MA area; he was one of the founders of this organization many years ago -
and he has a remarkable life story that I think everyone will find interesting.

Amazingly (from a family perspective at least),
Joe is not the first Klionsky descendant to be honored by this organization -
their 1992 honoree was Ellen Bloch (and her husband Don).
Ellen is the daughter of Hannah Klionsky Cowin Green; her grandfather Israel was raised in the
household of my great great grandfather Zalman Mordecai (but may not have actually been ZM's son -
the relationship is unclear). But, if Israel was ZM's son, she and Joe Press are third cousins -
a relationship they were entirely unaware of until I brought it to their attention a couple of weeks ago.
